Lasell College announced today the students named to the fall 2017 Dean's List. Students with this accomplishment are full-time degree candidates who completed 12 or more credits in the fall semester, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. This semester's Dean's List encompasses students from all class years and over 30 majors, including 157 members of the school's freshman class.
To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
More than 200 students from The Crane School of Music at The State University of New York at Potsdam will make their collective Lincoln Center debut on May 1 in a performance of Giuseppe Verdi's monumental Messa da Requiem under the baton of Ann Howard Jones. In celebration of the 125th anniversary of SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, the entire Crane Chorus and members of the Crane Symphony Orchestra will travel to New York City for the Avery Fisher Hall concert. Lambda Epsilon Sigma is Stonehill's Honor Society. The purpose of the society is to recognize and promote scholarship. Juniors and seniors who have attained a 3.5 cumulative grade point average are invited to apply for consideration. Acceptance into the society is based on evidence of academic achievement, of a pursuit of learning that extends beyond the classroom environment and of an ability to communicate effectively through writing.

The Stonehill Chapel Choir consists of both singers and instrumentalists of all faiths who provide musical leadership for the college's primary liturgy, the 7:00pm Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday evenings in the Chapel of Mary.
Students who participate in the H.O.P.E. Service Immersion Program form community with one another during the five months leading up to their trip. They learn about the culture, history and issues of social injustice in the communities they are destined to visit and serve.
In January during winter break, a group of students and faculty completed a weeklong service trip to Haiti as part of Saint Joseph's College of Maine's International Service Trips, in conjunction with Partners in Development (PID) of Ipswich, Mass. In Haiti, a team of faculty and staff members and 16 students spent the week working on the foundations of two houses in Blanchard and Canaan, just outside Port-au-Prince, regions especially hard hit by the 2010 earthquake, and nursing students assisted doctors and nurses with hundreds of patients in a health clinic.
The fellows program, currently in its first year at the college, is intended to offer needed support to the student body. Fellows went through a rigorous application process in the spring to qualify for their fall appointment, and each of them have a specialty in which they are especially suited to answer questions and offer support for their fellow students.
The State University of New York at Potsdam has awarded scholarships, grants and awards to 1,047 students for the 2013-14 academic year. These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.
